Over the last 100 years, the service sector has risen to dominate the structure of the Australian economy.

Primary industries have declined consistently with improved technological agricultural practices and mining infrastructure and devices.

The secondary sector has declined in Australia since the 1950s - the rise of global trade, Asian manufacturing supremacy (due to relatively low-cost labour AND deep proficiency in complex assembly).
