External Influences - Political

Governments are run by elected officials from political parties. The political party that wins the majority of seats (electorates) in an election wins the power of government. Elections can remove one party from power, replacing it with another.

Political parties have different views and values on what is good for the state / nation’s economy and people and have different policies and agendas to change laws.

Major political parties include: Labor Party, Liberal / National Coalition, The Greens, One Nation. There are a wide range of fringe parties.

Elected governments are tasked with creating and passing laws intended to change the way the economy / society works; this usually has a direct impact on the activities of business (good and bad).
