This topic focuses upon the main approaches to managing a business. There is an element of chronology here - as the earliest management approaches were envisioned, articulated and enacted - only to be expanded upon by later approaches. 

The key thing to consider here is that while earlier management approaches are deemed as 'outdated', they are still highly relevant to contemporary firms.
