Employer Associations

An organisation representing the interests of business owners (employers) to act as counter-balance to trade unions. 

These organisations: 

• Lobby governments in the interests of employers (more flexibility, lower wages), 

• Assist firms in collective bargaining and enterprise agreement negotiations, and 

• Provide legal counsel to employers on workplace dispute matters.

Examples include: Business Council of Australia (BCA), the Australian Industry Group (AiG), and other industry / professional bodies in each sector.
