The significance of HR’s role in business has gradually become more recognised. 

Previously it was devalued as a factor for business success, with operations, finance, then (after those two) marketing being deemed most critical. 

Currently, however, HR is considered pivotal for the success of modern business. 

Businesses that can acquire and keep the best people in their industries have enormous competitive advantages over rivals; new ideas and excellent customer service lead to business growth, higher revenue and higher profitability.
