New in Stock - Preliminary Exam Business Report Samples (Band 6 Exemplar)
Business Studies is awesome.
The management of the total relationship between an employer and an employee; in order to achieve the strategic goals of the business.
Human Resources underpins all the other Key Business Functions and aims to:
Maximise the return on investment in human capital (Human Resources is a large cost (60%) for service businesses);
Recruit and retain the best staff for a competitive edge against rival firms,
Lift business culture
Improve productivity / new ideas from employees.
This topic is VERY heavy on the Influences topic of the course - specifically the Legal Influences. The Human Resources Processes topic is largely a repeat of the Year 11 HR Topic, and many of the Human Resources Strategies have significant overlap with the processes.
You'll notice a 5th major topic - Effectiveness of Human Resources. This is an appended topic to ensure the critically important Monitoring and Controlling aspect of Human Resources is present. In terms of how this fits into the course - I imagine that this sits in the centre of the Human Resources Processes continuous cycle - tracking data across these functions using quantitative and qualitative indicators. These then inform the application of specific Human Resources Strategies to improve these metrics / KPI.
